Yet another long week at CCS. This week was testing, so our schedule was slightly altered. It was a unusually strenuous week, as Jake and I spent one whole period lugging five gallon buckets full of water to resupply the water barrel in our newly complete greenhouse. My broccoli is looking fantastic. It was doing pretty rough the last couple of weeks, and although there is still some discoloration, it looks and feels much healthier. My broccoli is located in the hot bed beneath the oak tree. This Monday I noticed little black specks all over my leaves. This I later found out were inch worm droppings from the tree above. Some of the worms will land on the plants now and then, but they cause almost no damage. Broccoli is up for sale this week, so any and all interested in buying, don't stop to come on by. In addition to tending to the broccoli, several other students and I have been planting red hot poker, irises, cannus, and day lilies in front of the greenhouse in order to make our area beautiful and lush.
