Welcome to the Covenant Classical Gardens! We have an exciting year ahead of us and our botany class will be taking advantage of the warm weather the Lord has provided us with! Our compost bin is now completed, and the greenhouse tables are under construction. A tiller was finally provided and we prepared the soil so we can begin planting our greens. Adam Jackson's orchard project has been completed and it is now our job to ensure that we maintain his work, and God's creation.

This week has been a very successful week. Grace, Chloe, and I shredded the cardboard for the compost pile, then Grace, Chloe, Kody, and I and added water throughout the week to it to keep moist. Grace, Chloe, and I also finished the posters to help make the kids more aware of what they put into the bin and we created a power point presentation for the grammar school chapel. The only problem is that Mrs. Cross, the lady in charge of the chapels says that the speakers for next two weeks have already been secured, so either we must present the week after the next two, or cut our presentation down to five minutes. If we wait two more weeks, we will be giving up some very valuable composting materials, as it takes a lot of organic matter to break down into a small pile of nutrient-rich soil. We also spoke with Mrs. Elkins and Mrs. Kuhn about the grass cuttings, but they said we won't have any until around April, and they will keep us posted.
Its been a great week
Its been a great week for the tater team, potatos are growing like crazy and hotbed is finaly nearing completion. -Adam J.
During the class period today I began to plant in my newly completed tractor pot! Firstly, I cut a plastic bag as a liner, and then I placed soil inside of the bag along with a rock. Then I saturated the soil. I decided on planting Spearment and Chives inside my pot. Now the waiting begins! I just hope my plants don't die. :)
Greenhouse and Lettuce
This week we started the greenhouse construction. It's coming a long and is going to look pretty cool. Also, the lettuce Kaylyn and I are growing nearly died due to frost, but we were able to save them(due to our amazing growing skill). :) They now have new leaves and look as though they will make it.

Last week we continued watering our Salvias and growing our potatoes. The hot bed is still there with nothing happening and the potatoes have finally shown some signs of growth. They grew lots, and are bigger than everyone else's plants and that is from Thursday, Friday and the weekend. Potatoes are looking good, Salvias seem to be fine. -wes
