Green Salad Bowl

On September 19, 2011 I planted Green Salad Bowl lettuce in one of the square foot gardens. Green Salad Bowl is a favorite loose-leaf variety, and it is easy to grow and sweet flavored. These seeds are supposed to be planted as early in spring as possible. They will start to germinate in 7 to 10 days, and you can harvest the lettuce in 50 days after planting.

Red Rubin Basil

Yesterday I planted Red Rubin Basil in one of the raised beds. This type of Basil is an annual and needs full sun. It also can be used as an ornamental plant or an herb. I hope to make purple pesto out of it when it grows large enough. The seedlings should sprout in about 7-14 days and I can't wait!

Parsley

I (Kirsten) am growing parsley. I planted them yesterday. You can do four wholes per square, and I put two seeds in each whole. Right now I am waiting for them tocome up. Can'twait until they come!
