Welcome to the Covenant Classical Gardens! We have an exciting year ahead of us and our botany class will be taking advantage of the warm weather the Lord has provided us with! Our compost bin is now completed, and the greenhouse tables are under construction. A tiller was finally provided and we prepared the soil so we can begin planting our greens. Adam Jackson's orchard project has been completed and it is now our job to ensure that we maintain his work, and God's creation.

I like plants.
Okay, so this week Michelle and I watered all of our herb baskets and pots. So far we have been very successful with our plants! However, we have had the most trouble with the lavender, spearmint, and rosemary seeds...none of them have sprouted. :( We did some research to see why and were unable to find any information as to why they weren't sprouting. But we did research some foods that we could make using the herb and plants that we are growing in Horticulture. I would post my list on here...but my iPod's (where the information is) battery is dead. I will try to get the list posted sometime next week. Today, Michelle and I watered our plants and then went outside to check the growth of our Looseleaf Lettuce. Unfortunately, they are not growing very quickly compared to everyone else's plants in the raise bed. Mr. Hardin said that it could be because we planted right before the weather cooled down significantly a few weeks ago. We will just have to wait and see!
